Oil + Water Chemistry
Oil and water may not mix, but kids and chemistry definitely do! First, set up your own chemistry lab. Add fizzy tablets to oil and dyed water to make an underwater “volcano,” make colorful, swirly art, explore the concept of density when you build an oil-and-water-powered ship-in-a-bottle, and more!

Behind the design
“This crate is all about experimentation — with oil and water! Discover the molecular science behind oil with fun experiments like an underwater volcano and fireworks. Plus, turn science into art creating a one-of-a-kind postcard and a boat in a bottle. ”

This was so much fun for my 3yo. We spread the activities out over the course of the week. It's been almost 3 hours of activities altogether. Each activity was so much fun.

What we liked: each activity in the kit was fun (except one); most of the ingredients can easily be found at home, so you can continue to experiment; the instructions and materials were great to get the lab set up, and once you are all set up, that's all you need. What we didn't like: the underwater fireworks didn't really work and there was no troubleshooting guide to suggest what might have gone wrong - it only did the "fireworks" when we took our own step and added colored water at the top.
