Paper Water Balloons

Ready to cool off? Learn how origami can transform a traditional water balloon fight into splashy, eco-friendly family fun (without the rubber balloon clean-up!).

Materials you’ll need

  • regular printer paper
  • water
  • scissors

Tips and tricks

  1. If you’re using regular printer paper, you’ll need to trim it to a square like we did in the video. Or you can use a large square of origami paper if you have one
  2. As you fold, press firmly on the crease. Clean, sharp folds are easier to assemble into the balloon.

  3. The balloon is just paper, so water will soak through if you hold onto it for too long.
  4. Finally, we recommend filling and throwing them outside!
